Norma Glorianne Newbill, 90, of Independence, Missouri, formerly of Windsor, Mo., died Friday morning, March 31, 2017, at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence.
She was born at Fairmount Maternity Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., on October 15, 1926. At two weeks of age, she went home to Iowa with her parents, Herman and Hester Netsch. At a young age the family moved to Independence, and then to Windsor, where she resided until she met and married John William “Jack” Newbill. Jack and Norma spent most of their married life in Independence, before returning to Windsor in 1983. During her working years, Norma was a beautician at Harzfeld’s at the Blue Ridge Mall. Upon Jack’s retirement, they built their dream home on a portion of the farm Norma had grown up on near Windsor. Norma resided her final six years in Independence near their daughter, Debbie.
Norma was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. The best part of her day was spent taking care of her family in any way she could. She took great pride in cooking, cleaning, baking, being a hostess, and was a perfect example of a loving faithful woman. Outside of the home, traveling with her family was her greatest joy.
Norma is survived by her daughter Debbie (Eric) Eklund, Independence, Mo.; a grandson John (Lisa) Townley, Blue Springs, Mo.; a granddaughter Brooke (David) McGuire, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; 4 great grandsons, Nick and Tristan Townley and Jackson and Caden McGuire; two brothers Newell (Sherlene) Netsch, Stockton, Mo. and Norval (Jane) Netsch, Windsor, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Nancy Newbill, Gladstone, Mo.; nieces and nephews, Cindy Newbill, Bryan (Carol) Netsch, Linda Netsch, Francie (Stacey) Blackwell, Jenny (Didier) Villard, and Tim (Elizabeth) Netsch; several great-nieces and great-nephews, and numerous friends.
