Carl L. Curtright, 77, of Windsor, Missouri, died Monday, November 6, 2017, at his home in Windsor.
He was born March 25, 1940, in Mack’s Creek, Mo., the son of Carl Lewis Curtright, Sr., and Pearl (Hankins) Curtright. On November 19, 1957, in Windsor, Mo., at the First Christian Church, he married Joan Louise Wooldridge and she survives of the home.
Carl served in the United States Navy. He then worked as a fireman in Raytown, Mo., for 24 years. He then co-owned and operated C&L Mowing with Lloyd Eshelman for several years. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent lots of time hunting, fishing, and taking the family on weekend camping and float trips. He also enjoyed golfing, gardening, playing cards with friends, and spending time with his grandchildren. In his later years, he also enjoyed watching the John Wayne TV series “The Virginian.” He was a member of the Windsor American Legion Post 82.
In addition to his wife Joan, survivors include 2 daughters, Carla Lipe and Cheri Sadler (Chris), all of Windsor; 5 grandchildren, Tobi Letterman, Sarah Howell, Joshua Sadler, Tol Lipe, and Ty Lipe; 2 great-granddaughters, Victoria Howell and Louise Letterman; a sister, Shirley Reno, Windsor, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Curt Curtright; a brother, Kenneth Curtright; and 3 sisters, Jewel Curtright at the age of 3 years old, and Ruby Whitworth, and Golda Fristoe.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2017, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. Gene Ekstrand officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the Windsor American Legion or the Windsor 4-County Rural Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
