Paul Sanders, 80, of Windsor, Missouri, died Sunday morning, February 4, 2018, at University Hospital, Columbia, Mo.
He was born November 25, 1937, in rural Leeton, Mo., the son of Arley Edgar Sanders and Eula Almira (Means) Sanders. On April 21, 1957, in Sedalia, Mo., he married Sandra Kay Williams and she survives of the home.
Paul was a 1956 graduate from Lincoln High School and played basketball as a Lincoln Cardinal. After high school he worked for the Windsor Shoe Factory. He then worked in various places including Mid-America Dairy in Windsor, Rival Manufacturing in Clinton, Peabody Coal Company, L. E. Hawkins Construction, and Parmalee Industries in Windsor. He then owned and operated Sanders & Sons Construction in Windsor. He enjoyed cattle farming, tinkering with his tractors in his shop, gardening, and going to the cattle sale barn. His love for basketball and sports in general continued throughout his life and he loved following area high school sports teams, especially the Lincoln Cardinals.
In addition to his wife Kay, survivors include 3 sons, Joe Sanders, Jim Sanders, and Jon Sanders, all of Windsor, Mo.; 4 grandchildren, Daniel Sanders, Jennie Hill, Macie McKim, and Josh Reno; 2 great-granddaughters, Delanie and Tory Hill; a brother, Don Sanders (Luanne), Windsor, Mo.; 7 sisters, Dorothy Bond, Sedalia, Mo.; Ruth Williams, Sedalia, Mo.; Gayle Hammond, Hannibal, Mo.; Vivian Murphy, Linn Creek, Mo.; Nadine Walk (Larry), Sedalia, Mo.; Sara Hart, Decatur, Illinois; and Judy Landry (Pete), Greenwell Springs, Louisiana; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Dameron.
A visitation will be held Thursday, February 8, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with cremation to follow. The family suggests contributions to the Windsor High School Booster Club for athletics in care of the funeral home.
