Betty Rose (Crews) Murphy, 82, of Clinton, Mo., died Sunday morning, April 14, 2019, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 4, 1936, in near Roseland, Mo., in Henry County, the daughter of Jesse Francis Wilson and Audra Hope (Means) Wilson. In 1951 she married Leonard Crews near Windsor, Mo., and he preceded her in death on November 6, 1972. She later married Patrick Murphy in Belton, Mo., and he also preceded her in death.
She worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Kansas City. Later while living in Arizona, she also worked at a convenience store for a time. She was a long-time member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Roseland, Mo. She loved singing hymns and enjoyed participating in the Henry County Rescue Mission services on Thursdays at First Baptist Church, Clinton. Betty loved people and had a very outgoing personality.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Frances Rasco and Carol Faye Crews, both of Grandview, Mo.; 2 sisters, Vera Griffith, Calhoun, Mo., and Ila Fern Briggs, Knob Noster, Mo.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Lonnie Gene Crews who died in infancy and Ray Dean Crews; a brother Jesse Junior Wilson; and a sister, Frances Winifred Wilson.
Graveside Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2019, at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Roseland, Mo., with Pastor Larry Hill officiating. The family suggests contributions to the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in care of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.
