Dale Bowers, 91, of Windsor, Missouri, died Tuesday evening, September 29, 2020, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, Mo. He was born August 26, 1929, in Fort Scott, Kansas, the son of Norman Curtis Bowers and Edna May (Gunsaullus) Bowers. On September 3, 1963, in Kansas City, Ks., he married Betty Lou Bowers and she preceded him in death on October 24, 2006. Dale was a 1948 graduate of Fort Scott High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1952 as an air traffic control operator. He worked as a parts manager in Kansas City and in Indiana. After retirement he and Betty moved back to Missouri and he worked at Wal-Mart for several years until 2008. He enjoyed bluegrass music and especially loved going to NASCAR and Indycar races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway with his son and family. Survivors include a son, Michael C. Bowers (Brenda), Windsor, Mo.; 5 grandchildren, Zackery Bowers (Whitney), Clinton Bowers (Emily), Breanna Bowers, Nicholas Bowers, and Matthew Bowers; 5 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Indiana, Olsyn, Paxton, and Nash; a sister, Marjorie Majors, Fort Scott, Kansas; a nephew Bruce Majors and a niece, Cindy Hiatt; and several great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2020, at the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, with Pastor Pete Hill officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.
