Dale Patten, 90, of Windsor, Missouri, died Monday afternoon, February 15, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Springfield, Springfield, Mo. He was born February 24, 1930, in Almena, Kansas, the son of Daniel Henry Patten and Matilda (Etherington) Patten. On July 18, 1953, in Grant, Nebraska, he married Alison (Sole) and she survives of the home. Dale served 2 years in the United States Army and the following 18 years of his military career in the United States Air Force. During this time, he served several tours overseas, including Korea, Vietnam, and Africa, and received the Soldier’s Medal for putting himself in harm’s way to save another soldier. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He raised Morgan horses for over 20 years. He bought and traded horses and broke and trained many horses. He enjoyed fishing, especially white bass and crappie and getting the family together for barbecues to spend time with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his wife Alison, survivors include a son, Dennis Patten (Betty), Buffalo, Mo.; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way; a sister, Bonnie Amaya, Henderson, Nevada; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, and 4 brothers. Burial with Military Honors will be in Sunset Hills Memorial Park, Bellevue, Washington, at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.
