Mary JoAnn Briscoe, 79, of Windsor, Missouri, formerly of Warsaw, Mo., died early May 26, 2022, peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She was born January 30, 1943, in Warrensburg, Mo., the daughter of William Ray Mace and Ester Kate (Thomas) Mace. Mary JoAnn was a homemaker. Her family was the center of her life. She enjoyed playing games, especially Pitch. She also loved the outdoors. Fishing, gardening, or hunting squirrels and mushrooms with her family brought her joy. She loved unconditionally and gave of anything she had to make sure the needs of her family were met. Survivors include 5 children, John Byrd (Brenda), Smithton, Mo., Nancy Edmiston, Tonganoxie, Kansas, Karen Petesch (Dennis), Atchison, Ks., Joe Holtmeyer (Sheila), Windsor, Mo.; and Larry Provance (Marlana), Windsor, Mo.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Bonnie June Roark, Warsaw, Mo., and Rosa Lee Johnson, Deming, New Mexico; 2 brothers, William Ray Mace Jr., Warsaw, Mo., and Wesley Edwards Mace, Lincoln, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 husbands, Jess Jackson Byrd, Larry Provance, Ray Shanoski, and Joe Briscoe; 2 sons, Tom “Beaver” Byrd and Robert “Bobby” Byrd; a sister, Fannie Jean Webster; and a brother, James Allen Mace. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2022, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor Johnny Medlock officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to help with funeral expenses and contributions may be made in care of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.
