Dorothy Louise Bond, 92, of rural Windsor, Missouri, died early Monday morning, June 27, 2022, at Clinton Healthcare and Rehab Center, Clinton, Mo. She was born October 16, 1929, in rural Green Ridge, Mo., the daughter of Arley Edgar Sanders and Eula Almyra (Means) Sanders. On May 1, 1948, in Sedalia, Mo., she married Charles Louis “Ben” Bond and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2015. Dorothy graduated from Green Ridge High School. After she and Charles married, she helped on the family farm, raised chickens, and kept a big garden. She was always supportive of the activities in which her children were involved. She helped on FFA and 4-H trips and enjoyed the canoe trips that were an annual family tradition. She and Charles hosted many hot dog roasts for family and neighbors on the family farm. She enjoyed cooking and, in later years, worked in the cafeterias of Windsor Elementary and High Schools. She had a collection of hats and enjoyed wearing them. She was a member of the Eldorado United Methodist Church near Green Ridge. Survivors include two sons, Robert L. Bond (Christine), Windsor, and Kevin C. Bond (Sherri), Sedalia; a daughter, Beverly J. Welch (Larry), Windsor; five grandchildren, Kimberly, Melissa, Jeremy, Kellie, and Corey (fiancé Courtney); eight great-grandchildren, Alannah, John, Brayden, Isabella, Cassie (Daniel), Seth, Brittney, and Kaylee; a great-great-grandson Eli and 2 great-great-grandchildren on the way; 6 siblings, Ruth Williams, Gayle Hammond, Nadine Walk, Donald Sanders, Sarah Hart, and Judy Landry; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Charles, she was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Irene Dameron and Vivian Murphy; and a brother, Paul Sanders. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor John Streit officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Windsor FFA greenhouse project (checks payable to Windsor High School) or the Eldorado United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
