Obituary of James Miller

James W. Miller, 87, of Windsor, Missouri, died Tuesday evening, June 5, 2018, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton.

He was born January 20, 1931, in Chilhowee, Mo., the son of Milton Artie Miller and Ruth Viola (Hilgenfeldt) Miller. On June 8, 1951, in Harrison, Arkansas, he married Geneva Belle Tracy and she preceded him in death on November 29, 2015.

Earlier in his life he worked as a farm hand and in construction. He also worked at the Green Ridge elevator and as custodian at the International Shoe Factory in Windsor. After a number of years, he retired in 1996 from Schreiber Foods (formerly Clearfield Cheese Co.) in Clinton. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Windsor, where he served on the Property Committee. He also enjoyed gardening, looking after cows and chickens, and also doing woodworking projects.

Survivors include two sons, Leroy Miller, Burnsville, Minnesota; Lonnie Miller, Windsor, Mo.; a daughter, Kathleen Stevens and husband Larry, Raytown, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Matthew Tiblow, Melissa Miller, Nathan Miller, Andrew Miller, Aaron Miller, Megan Hader and husband Floyd, and Eric Kemp and girlfriend Kristi Williams; five great-grandchildren, Madison Williams, Arianna Kemp, Gabriel Kemp, Micah Kemp, and Marley Kemp; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Eugene, Harold & Milton.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. David Mills officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the First Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
