Obituary of Mary Anne Willard
Mary Anne Willard, 81, of Lincoln, Missouri, formerly of Windsor, Mo., died early Sunday afternoon, July 29, 2018, at the Lincoln Community Nursing Home, Lincoln.
She was born September 14, 1936, in Pierce City, Mo., the daughter of James Joseph and Margrete Anne (Velten) Morarity. On February 2, 1957, in Kansas City, Mo., she married Ronald Lee Willard and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2003.
She worked at BMA Insurance in Kansas City and then for Tele-Com in Windsor. Before retiring, she and Ron owned and operated Aunt Mary’s Chicken House in Windsor for several years. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Windsor. She loved to read, golf with her husband, sew, and spend time in her garden. Homemade pies and fried chicken were among many favorite family dishes she prepared. She cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
Survivors include a daughter, Christy Tolliver (Jeff), Lincoln, Mo.; a granddaughter, Kaitlin Beamer (Mark), Lincoln, Mo.; a grandson, Ely Tolliver, Lincoln, Mo.; 2 great-grandchildren, Blakely and Wesley Beamer; a brother, Charles Morarity (Lynn), Cole Camp, Mo.; 2 sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Duke (John), Louisburg, Kansas, and Loretta York (Dick), Windsor, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Willard, Tulalatin, Oregon; a sister-in-law, Martha Jane Whithorne, Overland Park, Ks.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her husband, Ron, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Morarity; a sister, Arlene Goldsmith; a brother-in-law J.R. Willard; and a sister-in-law, Rose Thomas.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2018, at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Windsor. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. A Rosary Service will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday before the service at the church, followed by the family receiving friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The family suggests contributions to Benton County Hospice in care of the funeral home.
