Obituary of Vera Wells
Vera Wells, 85, of rural Green Ridge, Missouri, died Friday evening, August 3, 2018 at her son’s home.
She was born July 3, 1933, in Cole Camp, Mo., the daughter of Earl William Davis and Sarah Elizabeth (Reedy) Davis. On March 28, 1954, in Sedalia, Mo., she married Gene Allen Wells and he preceded her in death on March 11, 2013.
In addition to helping her husband on their farm, Vera worked as head cook at Windsor High School for 20 years. She was a long-time member of the Eldorado Methodist Church, rural Green Ridge and helped with many church dinners over the years. She was a member of the Green Ridge Garden Club and enjoyed flowers, reading, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include 2 sons, Randel Wells (Linda), Windsor, Mo., and Brent "Shorty" Wells (Rhonda), Green Ridge, Mo.; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor John Streit officiating. Burial will be in the Hickory Point Cemetery, rural Green Ridge. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to Hickory Point Cemetery, the Eldorado Methodist Church, or Twin Lakes Hospice and contributions may be left in care of the funeral home.
