Obituary of Joan Curtright

Joan L. Curtright, 78, of Windsor, Missouri, died early Friday morning, August 17, 2018, at her home in Windsor.

She was born March 20, 1940, in Windsor, Mo., the daughter of William Harrison Wooldridge and Helen Louise (Spalding) Wooldridge. On November 19, 1957, at the First Christian Church, Windsor, she married Carl Lewis Curtright and he preceded her in death on November 6, 2017.

Joan and her family lived in Raytown, Mo., for a number of years and she worked for the Internal Revenue Service, retiring on June 3, 1994. During their time in the Kansas City area she volunteered as a Cub Scout leader when her son was in Cub Scouts. She also enjoyed coming to Windsor and the lake area on weekends for camping, fishing, and canoeing where many great family memories were made. After retirement and moving back to Windsor, she continued to enjoy vegetable gardening, golf, playing bridge, knitting, baking, reading mystery novels and watching the Hallmark channel. But time spent with family continued to be her greatest love. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the former Windsor Country Club.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Carla Lipe and Cheri Sadler (Chris), all of Windsor; 5 grandchildren, Tobi Letterman, Sarah Howell, Joshua Sadler, Tol Lipe, and Ty Lipe; 2 great-granddaughters, Victoria Howell and Louise Letterman; 2 sisters, Jean Neugebauer, Sedalia, Mo.; and Joy Williams (Billy), Windsor, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Shirley Reno, Windsor, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Curt Curtright.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2018, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. David Mills and Heath Hamline officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the First Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
