Obituary of Bob Sloan
Charles R. “Bob” Sloan, 89, of Warsaw, Missouri, died Friday, August 31, 2018, at the home of his daughter.
He was born June 15, 1929, in near Windsor, Mo., the son of Walter James Sloan and Persey Louise (Meals) Sloan. On October 23, 1949, in Windsor, he married Loretta June Null and she survives of the home.
Bob graduated from Windsor High School in 1947. After their marriage, he and June moved to Independence, Mo., where they raised their family and Bob was part-owner in Woody’s Basement Company. In 1991, they retired to Warsaw where he enjoyed cutting wood, playing cards and spoiling the grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf in both Cole Camp and Warsaw.
In addition to his wife, June, survivors include 3 children, Randy Sloan (Linda), Sedalia, Mo.; Debbie Neeley (Lee), Cole Camp, Mo.; and Dennis Sloan of Kingsville, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, Karen Sloan, Grain Valley, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Sloan and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Pansy Hall.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. Ken Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The family suggests contributions to Benton County Hospice and may be left in care of the funeral home.
