Obituary of Julie Mason

Julie Mason, 64, of Windsor, Missouri, died Thursday morning, September 13, 2018, at her home in Windsor.

She was born April 24, 1954, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Charles Frederick Cravens and Dorothy Lee (Jackson) Cravens. On June 16, 1972, in Plattsburg, Mo., she married Robert Dean “Bob” Mason and he survives of the home.

Julie grew up in the Kansas City area and moved to Windsor in 1986 with her family. She worked at Wee Care Daycare in Windsor for over 10 years. She then worked at Cheri’s Diner for a short time. She was an avid Royals fan and attended many sprint car races over the years. Traveling, riding the motorcycle with her husband, and gardening were things she enjoyed. Her Potawatomi Indian heritage was important to her. She attended St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Windsor. She loved children and was a devoted mother. Affectionally known as “Hiney” to her grandchildren, she will be dearly missed.

In addition to her husband Bob, survivors include 2 daughters, Amy Powers, Windsor, Mo.; and Lindsey Mason-Law, Joplin, Mo.; 5 grandchildren, Logan, Mykayla, Tyler, Sean, and Adalyn; an aunt, Ellen Marsee, Shawnee Mission, Kansas; an uncle, David Jackson (Marsha), Grandview, Mo.; a nephew-in-law, John Maples (Stacy); and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Father Jim Taranto officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery at a later date. A fund to help with funeral expenses has been established and contributions may be made in care of the funeral home.
