Obituary of Dixie Vickers
Dixie Vickers, 78, of Warsaw, Missouri, formerly of Windsor, Mo., died Sunday afternoon, May 12, 2019 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia, Mo.
She was born June 27, 1940, in Buffalo, Mo., the daughter of Hiram Collins and Eva Marie (Huffstetter) Collins. On October 28, 1954, she married Robert Cecil “Pete” Vickers and he preceded her in death on September 19, 1999.
Dixie loved her children and grandchildren! Nurturing her children and spending time with them as they grew and had children and grandchildren of their own brought her great joy. She also enjoyed the birds and squirrels in her quiet Warsaw home.
Survivors include her life partner Bruce Kramer, Warsaw, Mo.; 3 sons, John Vickers (Debbie), Portland, Texas; Brian Vickers (Cheri), Windsor, Mo.; Darrell Vickers (Cam), Green Ridge, Mo.; a daughter, Michelle “Shelly” Vickers (David Turk), Jefferson City, Mo.; a son-in-law, Leonard Foster, Kansas City, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren; Bruce’s 2 sons, Charles Kramer (Chris), and Denis Kramer (Kay), Bruce’s 10 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and extended family. In addition to her husband, Pete, she was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Brenda Kay Vivone and Pamela Foster; a granddaughter, Jamie Vickers; 2 brothers, Bob Collins and Bill Collins; and 2 sisters Kathleen Scarbrough and Wilma Claspill.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor John Streit officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to help with funeral expenses and donations may be left in care of the funeral home.
