Obituary of Phyllis Landsberg

Phyllis Landsberg, 81, of Windsor, Missouri, formerly of the Odessa, Mo., area, died Saturday afternoon, May 11, 2019, at her home in Windsor.

She was born January 22, 1938, in Kalkaska, Michigan, the daughter of Elwood Elmus Norcross and Inez Louisa (Borden) Norcross. On March 28, 1958, in Odessa, Mo., she married Paul Jay Landsberg and he preceded her in death on November 22, 1993.

Phyllis graduated from Traverse City High School in Traverse City, MI. She then moved to Independence, Mo., to attend the former Independence Sanitarium and Hospital School of Nursing. After school, she worked as a Lafayette County nurse and a school nurse in the Odessa school district. She also taught nursing classes for a while and then worked in a nursing home. She enjoyed quilting, painting, and arranging flowers. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (RLDS). Her family was very important to her and she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Survivors include 2 sons, James Scott Landsberg (Stephanie), Oak Grove, Mo., and Douglas Landsberg (Tammy), Windsor, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-grandchild and a great-great-grandchild on the way; a brother, Carl and 3 sisters, Diane, Susan, and Beverly; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews including a niece Kathy Wagoner, Odessa, Mo. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Jeanine Marshall on October 24, 2015; a son, Christopher Paul Landsberg on November 25, 2015; a granddaughter, Josephine “Jo Jo” Landsberg; a brother, Kenny; and 5 sisters, Flora, Eleanor, Marilyn, Carol in infancy, and Janet.

Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2019, in the Odessa Cemetery, Odessa, Mo. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.
