Obituary of Etta Jean Briggs
Etta Jean Briggs, 78, of Windsor, Missouri, died Friday, June 21, 2019, at Windsor Healthcare & Rehabilitation.
She was born March 12, 1941, in Lincoln, Mo., the daughter of Ervin Earl Stevens and Mary Jane (Mothersbaugh) Stevens. On May 24, 1959, she married Arthur Robert “Bob” Briggs at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Roseland, Mo., and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1998.
Etta Jean graduated from Lincoln High School. She worked at the International Shoe Factory in Windsor and also for Vincent’s Clothing in Windsor for several years. She retired from Tracker Marine in June, 2001 after 13 years. She was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Roseland. She enjoyed farm life with her animals, crochet, Wednesday lunch with “the girls,” and especially her family.
Survivors include a son, Mike Briggs (Sandra), Windsor, Mo.; a daughter, Sandra Fosnow (Rob), Windsor, Mo.; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a great-grandson on the way; a brother-in-law; 2 sisters-in-law; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her husband Bob, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Briggs, and a brother, Dale Stevens.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning, June 29, 2019, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. Larry Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Roseland, Mo. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
