Obituary of Mark Rogers
Mark Rogers, 90, of Windsor, Missouri, died Monday morning, July 22, 2019, at his home in Windsor.
He was born June 14, 1929, in Coffeyville, Kansas, the son of Harry LeRoy Rogers and Georgia Anna (Smith) Rogers. On May 22, 1951, in Ft. Smith, Virginia, he married Marian Jane Cosgrove and she preceded him in death on February 20, 1999.
Mark served in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1948 at the close of World War II and then from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict. During his second enlistment, he served aboard the USS Wisconsin. He then worked for US Supply Company as an industrial sales manager for 38 years from 1955 to 1992. After retirement, he and Marian moved from the Kansas City area to Windsor to be close to family. He enjoyed bowling, racing his sailboat “The Woodstock” on Lake Jacomo, or just going “out for a spin.” He enjoyed keeping his yard and garden and was an avid bird watcher. He was a member of the Windsor American Legion Post #82, the Windsor VFW Post #2610, and the Windsor United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Patrick Rogers (Lisa), Windsor, Mo.; 2 granddaughters, Stephanie Ann Harrington (Tony), Hannibal, Mo., and Vanessa Jo Rogers, Windsor, Mo.; a great-grandson, Gabriel Harrington; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to his wife Marian, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Rogers; his twin sister, Marcella Rogers; and 4 brothers, Harry Rogers, Keith Rogers, Jerry Rogers, and Ronald Rogers.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. Pete Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to American Legion Post #82 or the Windsor United Methodist Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.
