Obituary of Charles Soles

Charles L. “Charlie” Soles, 93, of Windsor, Missouri, died Wednesday, August 7, 2019, as the result of a vehicle accident near Clinton, Mo.

He was born March 16, 1926, on the family farm in Benton County south of Windsor, Mo. He spent his lifetime working in carpentry. He built and worked on many homes in the area and spent many hours donating his skills to church building projects. He was a hard worker, working at the International Shoe Factory for 6 years and also farming row crops and cattle all while keeping up his carpentry work. He enjoyed reading the Bible, listening to the morning radio news, flowers and his pets. He was a long-time member of the Assembly of God of Windsor. Charlie was a steadfast man who lived his faith every day, witnessing to and inviting countless to church over the years. He enjoyed morning coffee and visiting with friends. His life was a blessing to many and he leaves behind many wonderful memories. Charlie’s gentleness and kindness will be greatly missed by his family and church family.

Charlie was the father of 3 sons. He is also survived by 3 brothers, Melburne D. Soles, St. Louis, Mo.; William V. Soles, Windsor, Mo.; and S. Eugene Soles (Della), Green Ridge, Mo.; 2 sisters, Nellie Belle Owens, Emporia, Kansas; and Naomi M. Carter, Sedalia, Mo.; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved Assembly of God church family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Wayne M. Soles in infancy and Bailey H. Soles; a sister, Mardellya M. Anders and her husband Leslie; a brother-in-law, William Owens; and 3 sisters-in-law, Dolly Soles, Naomi Soles and Grace Soles; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2019, at the Assembly of God of Windsor, with Rev. Gene Ekstrand and Rev. Murlin Anstine officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The family suggests contributions to the Assembly of God of Windsor in care of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, and condolences may be left online at
