Obituary of Sharen Emberry

Sharen Emberry, 74, of Windsor, Missouri, died Saturday evening, December 28, 2019, at her home in Windsor. She was born October 24, 1945, in St. Joseph, Mo., the daughter of James Ray “Jim” Hix and Katherine Nola (Pace) Hix. She graduated from Benton High School in St. Jospeh, Mo. Sharen married William Samuel Newgent and they were the parents of three sons, Steve, Kevin, and Bryon. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1975. She married Michael Emberry and they were the parents of a son Shawn and daughter Courtney. She worked for several years at Parmelee Industries in Windsor. Her family was the center of her life. Spending time with her children and grandchildren brought her joy. She also enjoyed coloring, angels, and candy canes. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Windsor. Survivors include 4 sons, Steve Newgent (Carrie), Kevin Newgent, and Bryon Newgent (Becky), all of Windsor, and Shawn Michael Emberry, Clinton, Mo.; a daughter, Courtney Anna Grace Emberry, Clinton, Mo.; 6 grandchildren, Matthew Newgent, Kayla Newgent, Stephanie Emberry, Hailee Newgent, Brittney Emberry, and Callie Newgent; 3 step-grandchildren, Kassy McRoberts, Adam Winson, and Toby Bishop; 3 great-grandchildren, Brayden Newgent, Madison, Newgent, and Kynzlee Kay Newgent; a sister, Karen Whitaker, Sedalia, Mo.; a niece Kristy Groves, Sedalia, Mo.; and 2 aunts and several cousins. In addition to her parents and husband William, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Lee Hix. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2020, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor John Streit officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established to help with funeral expenses.
