Obituary of Larry Uptegrove

Larry Uptegrove, 79, of Adrian, Mo., formerly of Windsor, Mo., died Monday, January 6, 2020, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo. He was born April 23, 1940, in Gravois Mills, Mo., the son of Harold Milo Uptegrove and Rose Laverne (Fletcher) Uptegrove. In 2017 he married LaDonna Carolyn (Garrett) Uptegrove and she survives of the home. Larry graduated from Stover High School and held several state basketball records. He worked in construction and for many years and worked on homes, businesses, and helped with many unique projects through the years. He owned and managed rental property and held a license in real estate and brokerage. He had cattle for a time and also enjoyed rebuilding cars. In addition to his wife LaDonna, survivors include a son, Shawn Uptegrove, Warrensburg, Mo.; 2 step-daughters Laura Uptegrove, Grain Valley, Mo., and Renee Peel, Adrian, Mo.; 3 grandchildren, Brenna, Brice and Brooke; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Kent Uptegrove, Stover, Mo.; a sister, Frona Bruce, Warrensburg, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Harold Lee Uptegrove; a grandson, Brandon Peel; and a niece, Rhonda DeLong. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2020, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. Dan Hankins officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in memory of Larry and contributions may be left in care of the funeral home.
