Lila Jane Wilson, 84, of Windsor, Missouri, died late Sunday evening, May 31, 2020, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City. She was born October 7, 1935, in Benton County, Mo., on the family farm, the daughter of Manard Wainwright Barber and Alvena (Beaman) Barber. On June 28, 1953, at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Roseland, she married Jesse Junior Wilson and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2013. Jane attended school in Windsor. She was a long-time member of the First Christian Church, Windsor and taught Sunday School and was a member of the CWF of the church. Her brother, Wainwright, gave her a camera when she was in high school and it became a life-long hobby, taking many many pictures. She had a way with flowers and enjoyed being with her family. Survivors include a son, Jerry Kurt Wilson, Windsor, Mo.; 3 daughters, Jeanie Lou Crawford, Harrisonville, Mo., Joy Christine Meek (Narvel), Windsor, Mo., and Charlotte Ann Hawkins, Windsor, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Leta Maxine Cooper, Windsor, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Oscar Wainwright Barber and a sister, Lillian Alvena Goucher. Graveside services for the family will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2020, at the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, with Rev. David Mills officiating. Friends may call Thursday from Noon to 8:00 p.m. at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor. The family suggests contributions to Children’s Mercy Kansas City and may be left in care of the funeral home.
