Obituary of Darlene Breshears

Darlene Breshears, 83, of Windsor, Missouri, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at EW Thompson Health & Rehabilitation, Sedalia, Mo. She was born July 11, 1937, near Fristoe, Mo., the youngest of seven children, to Jessie William Gemes and Mabel Irene (Hart) Gemes. On November 2, 1968, she married John Ellery Breshears in Fristoe and he survives of the home. Darlene was baptized at the Assembly of God in Fristoe on June 29, 1952 and graduated high school in 1953 at the age of 15. She worked at Lamy’s in Sedalia for over 20 years, at US Safety (Parmelee) for 27 years and many other jobs in factory and retail. She enjoyed reading Christian romance novels, writing, watching Jeopardy, going to garage sales, and collecting purses. She enjoyed going out for breakfast with John after her retirement. She loved her family and especially enjoyed spoiling her grandson, Trevin. Her proudest day was being in the room when he was born and being the first to hold him. In addition to her husband John, survivors include a son, John Mark Breshears (Angela), Overland Park, Ks.; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Breshears, Windsor, Mo.; a grandson, Trevin Cole Breshears; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers and sisters, Glenn, Beulah, Robert, Genevieve, Patsy, and Donald. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 14, 2020, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. Brad Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the New Home Cemetery, Cross Timbers, Mo. Friends may stop in to sign the book and pay their respects Sunday from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the New Home Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
