Obituary of Norman "Mike" Taylor

Norman “Mike” Taylor, 78, of Windsor, Missouri, died Thursday morning, January 28, 2021, at Western Missouri Medical Center, Warrensburg, Mo. He was born February 17, 1942, in Windsor, Missouri, the son of Norman Oliver Taylor and Anna Ruth (Wischmeier) Taylor. On August 13, 1961, he married Sue Ella Murray at the Windsor United Methodist Church and she survives of the home. Mike was a 1960 graduate of Windsor High School. After attending barber school and serving his apprenticeship, he opened Taylor’s Barbershop in Windsor in 1968 and was still operating the business after 52 years. He enjoyed fishing, wood carving, and reading. He and Sue shared many car rides to attend country music shows and their grandchildren’s activities. Mike served two terms on the Windsor City Council and was a member of the Windsor United Methodist Church, the Windsor Odd Fellows and a former member of the Windsor Jaycees. In addition to his wife Sue, survivors include 2 daughters, Vicki Ferdig (Gary), Monett, Mo., and Becky Gallagher (Tim), Pleasant Hill, Mo.; 6 grandchildren, Brandon Himes, Austin Himes (Jacque), Blake Himes (Ashley), Taylor Ford (Chet), Shawn Gallagher, and Tristan Ferdig; 7 great-grandchildren, Matison, Landyn, Riley, Cameron, Andilyn, Oliver, and Loren and a great-granddaughter on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Cameron Himes. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021, at the Windsor United Methodist Church with Pastor Pete Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Masks and social distancing are recommended for the visitation and the service. Friends may stop in to sign the book and pay their respects Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor. The family suggests contributions to the Windsor United Methodist Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.
