Obituary of Lois Quigley

Lois Quigley, 84, of Windsor, Missouri, died Saturday afternoon, April 24, 2021, at Country Club Care Center, Warrensburg, Mo. She was born February 20, 1937, near Windsor, Mo., the daughter of Floyd William Kramer and Gwendolyne (Dawson) Kramer. On July 8, 1953, she married Herbert William “Herb” Quigley in Windsor and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2018. For a number of years, Lois and Herb owned the H & L Discount consignment store in Windsor. They were happy to own a business on Main Street and to be involved in the community. After closing the store, Lois worked at the Windsor International Shoe Factory, Vincent’s Shoe Store in Windsor, and also at US Safety (Parmelee) for over 10 years before retiring. Lois’s happiest hours were spent bowling. She spent decades bowling in a variety of leagues and won numerous bowling awards and championships. She was a member of the Women’s International Bowling Congress and served as president of the local bowling league. Lois and Herb both enjoyed going for a drive and taking road trips to bowling tournaments throughout Missouri. Lois's other interests included playing bingo, watching John Wayne movies, babysitting her grandchildren, and tending to flowers in her yard. She was delighted when she was recognized for Yard of the Month. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Petal Pushers Garden Club, and First Baptist Church, Windsor. Survivors include 2 daughters, Pamela M. Aker (Steven) and Teresa L. Pennock (David) all of Windsor; 3 grandchildren, Stephanie Aker (Jeremy Godwin), Cole Camp, Mo., Valerie Hunt, Windsor, Mo., and Wyatt Aker (Christy), Windsor, Mo.; a great-grandson, Tucker; 5 brothers and sisters, Blanche Sadler, Windsor, Mo., Deloris Bubick, Lehighton, Pennsylvania, Larry Dale Kramer, Columbia, Mo., Dwight Kramer, Graff, Mo., and Sandra Self, Sedalia, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Keith William Aker; 3 brothers, Bill Kramer, Raymond Kramer, and Bobby Kramer; and a sister Brenda in infancy. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m., Friday evening, April 30, 2021, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor. The service may be watched the following day on Lois’ Tribute Page at www.hadleyfuneralhome.com. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., before the service. Friends may sign the book and pay their respects from 9:00 a.m. until the visitation on Friday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to First Baptist Church or the Laurel Oak Cemetery and may be left in care of the funeral home. Burial will be in Laurel Oak Cemetery at a later date.
