Obituary of Forrest Pinkston
Forrest Pinkston, 85, of Calhoun, Missouri, died Thursday evening, May 6, 2021, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, Mo. He was born August 13, 1935, the son of Claude Pinkston and Sarah Elizabeth (Milhauser) Pinkston on the family farm in Calhoun. On May 29, 1954, he married Iris Ellen Watson at the Calhoun Baptist Church and she survives of the home. Forrest attended Rockhurst University in Kansas City and studied accounting. Starting with Henry and Richard Block in 1955, Forrest worked in taxes his entire life. Eventually owning franchises of his own, he enjoyed all aspects of the business. In addition, he worked in bookkeeping for Rival Manufacturing in Kansas City and also as a security guard for General Motors. After moving back to the family farm in Calhoun, he had an American Family insurance office for a time. He enjoyed quail hunting, fishing, working puzzles and gardening. He served in the United States Army National Guard and was a member of the Calhoun United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife Iris, survivors include his daughter and son, Tisa Pinkston, Clinton, Mo., and Scott Pinkston (Brenda), Calhoun, Mo.; a granddaughter, Elle Pinkston, Clinton, Mo., and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Pinkston and a sister, Opal Henry. A celebration of Forrest’s life will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 6, 2021, at the Calhoun United Methodist Church with Pastor Margie Briggs officiating. Masks will be required. The family suggests contributions to the Calhoun United Methodist Church in care of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.
