Obituary of Bob Brown

Please share a memory of Bob to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kenneth Robert “Bob” Brown, 81, passed early Friday morning, July 2, 2021 at his home in Windsor, MO. He was born July 19, 1939 in Centerview, MO to Arlie William “A.W.” Brown and Gladys Charlene (Livengood) Brown. He married Shirley Louise Frisch on January 22, 1961 and she survives of the home. He graduated from Warrensburg High School and attended Central Missouri State, where he was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. During his youth he held various jobs which included accompanying his father on his meat route, mowing lawns and setting pins in a bowling alley. After moving to Kansas City in 1962, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service and delivered newspapers for the Kansas City Star. In 1980 he became a professional truck driver for Riss International and drove until 1992 when he opened Earl’s True Value with his wife. After losing the store to a fire in 1999, Bob returned to trucking with Show Me Trucking and drove until he retired in 2013. Not letting this slow him down, he extended his driving career with Howard Custom Spreading. Bob was once asked what his hobbies were to which he responded that work was his hobby. Thus, it isn’t surprising that he considered working on the farm a hobby. He also enjoyed playing cards with his dad and uncles as well as bowling on the Sunday mixed league in Windsor. In addition to his wife Shirley, survivors include 2 daughters, Deborah Beebe (Charles), Raymore, MO and Jennifer McCampbell (Mark), Windsor, MO; 5 grandchildren, Trisha, Justin, Matt, Leeza and Kyndra; 7 great-grandchildren, Arista, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Oliva, Ashton, Eli, Briar, and another great-grandchild on the way; 1 brother, Dean Brown; 2 sisters, Alice Beauchamp and Jean Jennings; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Howard Brown. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, July, 9, 2021, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. Bill Douglas officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends Friday morning before the service from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Friends may also pay their respects and sign the book from 12:00 noon until the 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the Show-Me Christian Youth home in care of the funeral home.
