Obituary of Barbara Snedden

Barbara Snedden, 87, of Windsor, Missouri, formerly of Belton, Mo., died Wednesday evening, August 11, 2021, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, Mo. She was born June 22, 1934, in North Tonawanda, New York, the daughter of Orval Delone Lovegrove and Eva Mae (Campbell) Lovegrove. On October 31, 1961, she married Donald Glenn Snedden Sr., in Denver, Colorado. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2011. Barbara was a long-time member of the Joyful Sound Worship Center, Peculiar, Mo. She taught Sunday School for 40 years and also served as a Deacon. She had worked for Crescent Cleaners in Belton and had taught at Mineral Area Christian Academy for several years. She began writing Sunday School lessons for Bible Way Association in 2008. Her writing talents also included writing stories and she enjoyed sending cards and knowing she was being a comfort to others. She loved God and her church family was a very special part of her life. Survivors include 9 children, Kenneth A. Broecker Jr.(Kathy), Barker, New York; Brenda K. Short, North Tonawanda, NY; Dori Lynn Linehan, Niagara Falls, NY; Peggy Jo Davis (John), Belton, Mo.; Kathy M. Violanti (Anthony), Niagara Falls, NY; Karen M. Kulaw, Buffalo, NY; Timothy G. Snedden Sr. (Holly), Windsor, Mo.; Donald G. Snedden Jr, St. Louis, Mo.; and Melissa N. Jones (George), Woodbury, Tennessee; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; several godchildren; and many dear church family members who loved “Grandma” Barbara. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Jon Snedden, a granddaughter, Katie Beth McEvoy, a great-granddaughter, Jessica Lawrie, and 2 sisters, Shirley Phillips and Marianne Duerr. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 2021, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Bro. Mike Cronk officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends Sunday before the service from 2:00 pm to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
