Obituary of Shelby Allen

Shelby Jeanne Allen, 82, of Windsor, Missouri, died Wednesday morning, October 27, 2021, at Windsor Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Windsor. She was born December 29, 1938, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Homer Ellis Stoutimore and Mary Frances (Williams) Stoutimore. On March 17, 1957, she married Cletis Dean Allen at the First Christian Church in Windsor. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2007. Shelby started her career by working at numerous places including the International Shoe Factory in Windsor before getting hired at Whiteman Air Force Base where she worked in the Dental Clinic office. She retired from Whiteman Air Force Base after a long and illustrious 30+ year career. After retirement, she then worked part-time at Windsor Real Estate, Shorty's Hook Sale and Golden Valley Medical Wellness Center in Windsor. She was also active on the farm with Dean and after his death, she sold the farm and moved into town. She was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She frequently fixed food for their activities and attended any event they participated in. She was an excellent cook and was known for fixing thousands of her famous rolls at a time for dinners at the Eldorado United Methodist Church where she attended for many years. Affectionately known as “Mom” to many of her children and grandchildren’s friends, she was always there to help when there was a need and enjoyed taking care of those in her life. Special family outings of fishing and shopping trips were enjoyed by all. She was a member of the Assembly of God of Windsor. Survivors include a daughter, Deanna Burton (Randy), Rimrock, Arizona; 7 grandchildren, Jaime Westover (Mark), Micheal Allen (Misty), Kendra McGuire (Aaron), Riki Warren (Taylor), Seth Burton (Morgan), Kris Boatright, and Alexus Sherrer; 7 great-grandchildren, Zachary and Landon McGuire, K’Lea, Blake, and Kamdyn Westover; and Kinleigh and Kyleigh Warren; three sisters-in-law, Doris Jean Allen, Shirley Stoutimore, and Donna (Dale) Horner; a nephew, Ward Stoutimore; and other numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Dean, she was preceded in death by a son, Brian Allen on October 24, 2013; an infant daughter, Lori Denise; and a great-grandson, Braydn Mark Westover. Graveside services will be 4:30 p.m., Monday, November 1, 2021, at the Hickory Point Cemetery, rural Green Ridge, Mo.
