Obituary of Dorothy Kruse

Dorothy Kruse, 90, of Windsor, Missouri, died Sunday, December 12, 2021, at her home near Windsor. She was born January 19, 1931, in Green Ridge, Mo., the daughter of Leslie Clay Ridenour and Mildred Elizabeth (Mullins) Ridenour. On December 16, 1951, she married Conrad Otto Kruse in Windsor and he preceded her in death on November 9, 1984. Dorothy worked at the International Shoe Factory for 10 years. She also worked for Dollar General in Windsor and Sedalia. She cared for over 125 foster children during a span of 30 years. She sold Stanley Home Products for a number of years. She raised a garden and cooked many meals for her family. She enjoyed fishing, working puzzles and collecting knick-knacks, especially roosters. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and enjoyed her Sunday School class and its members. Survivors include 6 children, Conrad Otto Kruse, Jr. (Darci), Windsor, Mo., Dale Edward Kruse Sr. (Lisa), Green Ridge, Mo., Michelle Brummet (Russell), Sedalia, Mo., Carrie Ann Rothweil (Thomas), Wentzville, Mo., John Lee Kruse, Booneville MO, and Brian Otto Kruse (Shey), Sedalia MO; 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren; 2 half-brothers, Leslie Ridenour, Springfield, Mo., and John Ridenour, Clinton, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Joyce Talley, Independence, Mo.; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Ronnie Dean Kruse and Charles Kruse Sr; 3 brothers, Quincy Clay Ridenour, James Edward Ridenour and Charles Leslie Riley Jr.; a granddaughter, Chasity Kruse; a great-grandson, Jacob Elliott; a half-sister, Martha Brown; and beloved aunt, Emogene White. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Antioch Cemetery, Manila, Mo., with Pastor Dan Hankins officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor. The family suggests contributions to the Antioch Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
