We have really missed Red at Walmart; he was the sweetest man, always with a smile. He always joked around with us, but it was clear that he had a genuine love for people. Sympathy and condolences to his family and friends.

The amount of memories I have of my grandpa are absolutely endless, but one key factor in every single one of them, is the massive abundance of love and happiness. He was without a doubt one of the most incredible, amazing, kind, selfless, welcoming, goofy, sarcastic, and just all around wonderful human being to ever be in my life. Thank you, grandpa, for being one of my biggest supporters in life and giving me such amazing memories to keep in my heart for the rest of my days. I love you with everything I have

Both my daughters would look for Red each time we were at Walmart. He would remind them to be good, as they thought he was the real Santa Clause. He loved every minute of it! It brought such joy to him! We will miss him, and condolences to his family. We only had the privilege of knowing him for a short time, but in the time we would see him, you could tell he was a man with a warm heart!

My daughter was 3 when we met Red. Ever since she would look for him. We couldn't leave until she gave him a hug. We just couldn't. It was a whole situation if I tried. When she was 11 she still had to, absolutely had to take time to stop and find him for a hug and a chat. He was just the kind of person who took the time to listen. I'd hear "Hey, hey Taylor girl" and knew I was about to happily lose 20-30 min watching and listening to the oddest pair of friends catch up on everything that happened since the week before. She never missed a trip to Walmart. They had a friendship that superceded the generational gap between them. He was an honorary grandparent to so many I'm sure, but he made everyone feel individually cared for. She is 13 now and asked about him the other day. He will be heart-felt and deeply missed by so so many. He was unique and effected so many lives. I am more sorry for your loss than I can easily express.

My favorite memory of Uncle Eldon:
When I was around 10 years old I became a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan. As everyone knows, Uncle Eldon was a huge Denver Broncos fan. Every time they would faceoff, I would receive a phone call. When I picked up and said hello, the only thing I heard was "Hahahahaha," and then a "click." Uncle Eldon would call, laugh, and hang-up on me every time Denver scored a touchdown. He always had the best outlook on life and was a genuinely happy person. I will miss him!

When I was younger dad and I would watch football together. I remember it just being Dad and I but I’m betting other people were in the room. Eldon would know. I would make a big bowl of popcorn with butter and lots of salt because mom wouldn’t let us have salt and we would watch the Denver Broncos and scream at the TV it was lots of fun.

I love you dad. I know I wasn’t the best daughter as far as staying in touch with you but when we did talk it was always a good conversation on the phone and we always always told each other that we loved each other no matter how much time went by. May you rest in peace.

One of the many fond memories I have for my dad when I was younger was that he would take me to go get some of the best french fries I’ve ever had at the Branding iron in Elizabeth Colorado after playing a hometown game. He also supported me at hometown games with Mom. I could always count on Dad to shout the loudest from the stands and yell at the refs and try give them his glasses so that they can make better calls. Lol
