Obituary of June Sloan

June Sloan, 90, of Cole Camp, Missouri, died Sunday morning, January 16, 2022, at her home. She was born June 22, 1931, in Windsor, Mo., the daughter of Ralph S. Null and Velma Lorraine (Knecht) Null. She attended Bryson school near Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1949. On October 23, 1949, she married Charles Robert “Bob” Sloan in Windsor and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2018. After marriage, Bob and June moved to Independence, Mo., where they raised their three children, Randy, Deborah, and Dennis. She worked at a McDonald’s franchise owned by Ewing Kauffman. His family-first philosophy allowed June to work and never be far from her children and family. She retired in 1991 after 25 years with McDonalds when she and Bob moved to the Warsaw area. June started painting in 1976 and was widely known for her wildlife paintings. She was an avid bowler and golfer. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include 3 children, Randy Sloan (Linda), Sedalia, Mo.; Debbie Neeley, Cole Camp, Mo.; and Dennis Sloan, Kingsville, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, Karen Sloan, Lone Jack, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a stepsister, Kay Rosebrough (Bert), Windsor, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Billie Sloan; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Bob, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Lee Neeley; her sister, Pansy Hall; her stepmother, Lena (Miller) Null; a stepsister, Nola Lee Rodriguez; and a brother-in-law, Jim Sloan. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 24, 2022, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the Lincoln Nursing Home and may be left in care of the funeral home.
