Obituary of Marion Gregory

Marion Gregory, 85, of Green Ridge, Missouri, died Thursday afternoon, April 28, 2022, at his home near Green Ridge. He was born June 28, 1936, in Sedalia, Mo., the son of Earl Henry Gregory and Mary Elizabeth (Walkup) Gregory. On April 19, 1968, he married Virginia Dee Garrett in Miami, Oklahoma and she survives of the home. Marion managed the W. R. Grace & Co. fertilizer plant in Malta Bend, Mo., for several years. He then worked for Mid Mo Electric as a truck driver for over 20 years, retiring in 1998. He was an accomplished welder and loved riding horses. He competed in many horse and cattle shows over the years with his daughter, Melissa. He was a member of the Sweet Springs Saddle Club and the State Fair Saddle Club. In addition to his wife Virginia, survivors include a daughter Melissa Gudde (Phillip), Sedalia, Mo.; 2 granddaughters, MacKenze Gudde (fiancé Adisen Harms), and Tayler Gudde; a brother Robert Gregory (Sharon), Hustonia, Mo.; 3 nephews, Jeff Gregory, Kevin Gregory, and Michael Gregory; and several great-nieces, a great-nephew; and several great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, J.D. Gregory. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Chaplain John Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia, Mo. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the Show-Me Christian Youth Home in La Monte or the Good Shepherd Hospice in care of the funeral home.
