Denzil Lee Cooper, 76, of Nevada, Texas, formerly of Windsor, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2022. He was born on February 22, 1946, in Warrensburg, Missouri to Henry Charles and Rilletta Olean (Brooks) Cooper. In 1971, he joined the Dallas Fire Department where he served faithfully and courageously for 27 years. During this time, he owned his own business roofing and remodeling homes. He was married from 1967-1985 and had two sons, Andrew and Matthew Cooper, who were at his side upon his death. Upon retiring from the Dallas Fire Department, he and his wife Ellen (1985 – 2016) moved to a farm outside of Windsor, Mo., and lived there for over 15 years. He was a wonderful husband and loyal companion to Ellen who passed away in 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rilletta Cooper, and his wife Ellen. He is survived by his son Andrew and his wife Christie, his son Matthew and his wife Kara, Rodney Lewis and his wife Tammy, along with seven wonderful grandchildren, Chelsie, Cody, Justin, Kendall, Mattisyn, Nolan, and Taylor, as well as two great grandchildren Brooklynn and Jackson. He is also survived by his sister Melvina Casteel and her husband Ed, and brother Charles Cooper and his wife Charlotte. He will be dearly missed as he was a role model and hero to everyone in his family. Graveside funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, with Rev. Clif Dudley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.
